Services: Landscape Architecture, Construction & Management
When Zeke finished his graduate degree, he created a new landscape architecture design firm. Hoping to get some design work for his firm, he went to Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort. At the time, HCCR was in the middle of a $650 million dollar expansion. Zeke had heard that the landscape items were not designed well and/or many changes were occurring that no one felt comfortable with. After his initial meeting, HCCR called Zeke and offered him a job, but not for his firm, as one of their employees.
For 7 years, Zeke was employed at HCCR and oversaw all components of the landscape and grounds. Leading the Grounds Department, Zeke was responsible for ALL design, construction, and management, for all landscape elements at the billion-dollar resort.
"I will always feel grateful for HCCR giving me the opportunity to create and manage the amazing landscape at HCCR. Not only did I become a better designer, I learned how to manage, motivate and interact with people," Zeke says fondly.
During his tenure, the landscape at HCCR was awarded 3 National Design/Build Awards from the National Association of Landscape Professionals and 1 National Grand Award from the Professional Grounds Management Society.
